What is finding balance?

The goal of this blog is to share wisdom that allows you readers to adjust your life to find more balance. My shiatsu teacher said today: "There is no balance is life". Bum there you have it. Should I now throw this blog out of the window?

No, of course not. I believe she meant that all our life we are trying to achieve balance but there is never a state of complete balance. We rather move along a wavy line around balance, sometimes close and sometime far from it.

If the waves form extreme triangles we are too far away from balance and we get sick. We have to make adjustments to come closer to balance and then life changes again and again we have to make adjustments.

Life is also constantly moving. Life is not a straight (balanced) line itself and we simply try to adapt to it. Sometimes leaning more in one direction, other times in the other.

If we loose our balance and become frustrated or depressed, we might start to dream that if we just get this job, or this house or this other partner our life will be better again. But those dreams cost us a lot of energy, they weaken us. If we are honest with ourselves we know that this better job might come with some improvement but it will also come with sacrifices such as more work to pay of the mortgage. And those sacrifices require again that we work hard to come closer to balance.

What is balance then? I think balance is awareness of how we live our life to feel content and fulfilled. Balance is feeling healthy. Mentally and Physically. Not all the time, every one catches a cold sometimes and everyone feels down but overall feeling fit and healthy. Balance is following your own path, feeling that your life is meaningful.

It is not about reaching the "perfect life" as such perfection doesn't exists.
It is about knowing what the perfect state could be and trying to live as close to it as possible. In full awareness that life is ever changing, ups and down, suffering and joy. That we can lose this state in any second, that the definition of perfection is ever changing and that we have try to find it again and again.

With this blog, I want to help you to become aware of who you are, what a fulfilled life means to you and give you tips to become and stay mentally and physically healthy.
